March Music Writing Challenge Day 22: King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard has got to be one of the most experimental and creative bands I’ve ever come across. They put out so much music it’s hard to keep up and it blows my mind that they’re able to create so often and put together all of the necessary parts for album/EP releases. One of my favorite albums of theirs is “Omnium Gatherum”, and my favorite song is Magenta Mountain.

I love a more experimental sound and the amount of cool sound effects and synths they incorporate into their art is unmatched. Another track from this album I adore is The Dripping Tap....all 18 minutes of it. If I still smoked, this would be my number one artist for those sessions, the psychedelic nature of it all is otherworldly.

Omnium Gatherum was released in 2022, and since then, they’ve put out 7 more albums…HOW!? It’s unreal to me how they can put out so much good music so quickly. If you’ve never listened to a single King Gizzard song, I recommend Magenta Mountain very highly, it’s a chill and fun listening experience for anyone.
